Some brands start with a logo and go looking for a factory. Onway Sports started the other way around — with a workshop, a set of tools, and a stubborn interest in how a chair folds down to almost nothing and still holds a grown adult in comfort.
That was 1995. Three decades later we are still in the same business, in our own factory in Guangzhou, designing and building folding chairs, tables and outdoor furniture that goes out into the world under our own name.
Made by us, not sourced by us
There is a meaningful difference between a company that designs and manufactures and one that buys and rebrands. We are the first kind.
Every Onway Sports piece is drawn in-house and built on our own production line — the ribbed aluminum frames, the walnut and bamboo armrests, the canvas that gets washed a hundred times and keeps its shape. When you buy from us, you are buying from the factory that made it, not from a middle layer that ordered it.
That control is why we can stand behind details most buyers never think to ask about: the wall thickness of an aluminum tube, the denier of a seat fabric, the load a frame is actually rated to carry. We know these numbers because we set them.
Seen where the industry gathers
Our folding furniture has been shown at the international trade fairs where the outdoor world meets — including spoga+gafa in Cologne, the leading fair for garden lifestyle, and ISPO, the benchmark event for the sporting-goods and outdoor industry. Buyers and campers sit in the chairs, fold the tables, and judge the work for themselves.
On being the original
As any long-lived maker eventually learns, being the original invites imitation. We think the honest response is not to argue but to be plain about who we are:
Onway Sports has operated continuously since 1995. We design our own products. We manufacture them in our own factory. Our official channels are listed at the foot of this page — our store, our Instagram, our verified marketplace shops. If you bought from one of those, you bought the genuine article, backed by the people who actually make it.
Still the same hands
Thirty-one years is long enough to have made a lot of chairs. It is also long enough to have learned what not to change: the low seat that brings you closer to the fire, the frame that survives a hundred pack-downs, the quiet preference for a design that lasts over one that merely sells.
